Workshop “Phase transitions at the nanoscale: wetting of nanoporous materials, cluster formation, and nanofriction”

Between 23rd and 26th June 2021 a summer workshop entitled “Phase transitions at the nanoscale: wetting of nanoporous materials, cluster formation, and nanofriction” was held in Sant'Anna in Camprena, (Pienza) Italy.

This event, organized by Prof. Alberto Giacomello, leader of the ERC Starting Grant project HyGate, was aimed at sharing cutting-edge insights regarding nanoscale phase transitions, ranging from modeling and simulation to experimental study of real systems.

Specifically, the workshop focused on three main topics: wetting of nanoporous materials and their energy absorption properties, the formation of nanoclusters and nanolayers, and the friction of nanoscale materials.

Organizers: A. Giacomello, A. Tinti. A. Gubbiotti, E. Telari, S. Venturini.

Speakers: A. Giacomello, R. Ferrando, Y. Grosu (Electro-Intrusion), B. Coasne, A. Tinti, A. Gubbiotti, N. Manini, C. Guardiani, C. M. Casciola, S. Meloni (Electro-Intrusion), M. Settem.
